Why blogging is important

Many people believe blogging is a dying form of media and I am here to explain why that is just not true. Though other social media sites such as facebook and twitter have effected blogging and its popularity it is still a very important aspect of any business portfolio. Blogging helps to provide a fuller picture of who you are as a writer, even though you should have an expanded profile using different social media tools it is important to have a central hub for your ideas so that it is very neatly organized and easy to follow and read. Basically using other social media to draw attention to your blogging is a key aspect of working within a social media driven world. It is much easier to explain complex ideas or anything in general in the longer writing format of blogging then it is to do the same using the small character limit of twitter.

It can take a hundred tweets to thoroughly explain an idea that one blog post could explain by itself. It is also a great way to build trust within your audience. They can see quality content on a consistent basis and begin to trust your writing and ability to provide clear concise ideas and quality thoughts that are both well demonstrated and highly tailored to your specific audience. This is where blogging becomes very effective because it is more specialized then other social media. With other media you are looking to cast a wide net and bring in more page views, likes, or retweets, but with blogging you are looking to either educate your audience or provide a product. Blogging also allows for much more creative posts using items such as infographics and other creatively displayed informative media. This allows you to draw in more viewers as they are both entertained and educated using beautiful media designs and they can become a very talked about internet resource.

To throw some stats out as well someone with an active blog who posts five times a week or more with have six times more organic search results then someone who does not blog and obviously organic search results are very important, although you can drive traffic through search engine optimization as well organic results are equally important because they help to display a more truthful amount of traffic then just having good keywords that appear often. Another important thing to remember is not to bail on your blog because new technology or a new website comes out. This has happened with many people throughout the active history of blogging and it is almost always a mistake. It is important to remember that blogging has a snowball effect.

The more posts you have the more traffic that you are likely to generate and in turn the more income you can come to achieve. As long as you continue to increase your total blog count by at least two to three posts a week you can start to see results in six to twelve months. Blogging is still of key importance in marketing your work, but it will take a little while to see results and patience is key in building a large impact on the internet and with web driven activities. You should still use other social media, but use it as a compliment to your most direct way of communicating, which is blogging.
